Please be sure to read all restrictions on airsoft guns under the Equipment Requirements section below.

Field Rules
- Don’t be stupid! If you have any doubt in your mind that what you’re about to do might be stupid DON’T DO IT! This includes climbing trees, horse play, etc.
- Watch your footing! Although most of field is smooth there are places where water has washed out small trenches creating tripping hazards. Always be aware of where you are stepping!
- Only approved* 6mm airsoft BBs that are biodegradable may be used at the field. Any BBs over the weight of .4 must be approved for use by Blackwater Marsh Staff.
- Follow ALL set requirements for airsoft guns. Any abuse of joules limits, gun mode restrictions (i.e. full-auto), engage distance, and/or just bad sportsmanship can end in a player being banned from using any thing other than a rifle/pistol class weapon.
- If there is a real world emergency (i.e. a player needs an ambulance, is suffering a heat stroke, etc.) yell the word “Canada” and/or “Blindman”. All gameplay will stop until the emergency is resolved.
- Listen and understand each game type and rules, if you do not understand please ask a fellow player or referee.
- Do NOT abuse game type rules or try and manipulate the game type to an unfair advantage. We are here to play and have fun, not see how creative someone can get at bending the rules. Trying to manipulate game play or make underhanded deals with enemy teams can lead a player to be removed for the day.
- Call your hits, each player is encourage to have a dead rag on their person (red rag) that they display on their body when killed. Additionally, raising your hand and calling out the word hit 3 times is required when first getting hit.
- Don’t scream “call your hits” or any other form of it at other players! If you suspect someone of not calling their hits address it with a referee, most times a BB that looks like it could hit a player falls short or curves off course out of sight of the person shooting. Yelling call your hits at opposing team does nothing but detract from the game, don’t do it!
- Players MAY surrender but don’t have to, players who sneak up on other players or find themselves in close proximity with a clear advantage can ask a player to surrender. That does not mean they HAVE to surrender, the only guaranteed to way to down a player is by shoot, melee, or grenade another player within the Equipment Requirements limit.
- No blind firing, a player may not shoot their weapon around a corner, over a building, etc. without first being able to see where the player is shooting and maintain that line of sight while shooting (i.e. no jumping up and shooting over something). If using a rifle the rifle must be shouldered before shooting.
- Lasers are only allowed during night games, shining lasers in a persons eyes will lead to the immediate privilege to users lasers revoked.
- Ricochets and gun hits don’t count as a kill, but just be sure it was a ricochet or gun hit, player must call out “gun hit” and/or “ricochet hit”.
- No firing through small gaps or cracks, a player may only shoot through windows and doorways, shooting through cracks or small gaps in and under structures are not allowed.
- Friendly fire does count as a kill, don’t shoot your team mates!
- No spawn camping, players should be able to leave their spawn without instantly being shot at, if you are in an area where you can do that, you are spawn camping!
- HAVE FUN! And the most important rule is have fun, we are all our here to have fun and have a good time. If you are the type of player who tries to abuse the rules, not call your hits, think you are above other players because you have the best gear, tricked out gun, etc., or push your weapon to the furthest limits just to overshoot and/or cause pain this is NOT the field for you and if you try and bring that mentality we will be very prompt to remove you!
*Blackwater Marsh staff or referees reserve the right to inspect all equipment and consumables used on the field.
